Holme sits in an area of natural beauty with strong heritage all around. Connections to smuggling are evident in nearby Thornham, while Brancaster Beach was used for training for D-Day landings and is home to an ancient Roman fort (Branodunum).
Further afield, the stately homes of Holkham, Sandringham and Houghton are all worth a visit, as are the ruins of Creake Abbey. Each offers a varied programme of events throughout the year.
Food and drink

The White Horse caravan park is located right next door to a lovely Grade II listed pub of the same name. Serving up excellent menus, it’s a great place for lunch or dinner. Excitingly, a bakery was added in 2025 in a converted barn, with artisan bread, pastries and delicious coffee to really make your mornings.
Up the road in nearby Thornham, Drove Orchards is a popular spot for food! With fish and chips, pizza, ice cream and a bakery, there’s something for everyone.
With several pubs in the village too, you really are spoiled for choice in Thornham!

Holme-next-the-Sea lies between marshes, dunes and beach, meaning there are plenty of habitats rich in biodiversity and waiting to be explored!
The Holme Dunes reserve (part of Norfolk Wildlife Trust) provides a peaceful, unspoiled stretch of coastline to enjoy.
You can walk east to Thornham or west to Old Hunstanton via the Norfolk Coast Path and other trails.
